Porcelain is a pure white clay that brings out the color of almost any glaze. I like to make serving pieces with porcelain, such as trays, platters, and casserole dishes. Some items are hand built with slabs, others are fashioned on the wheel. But each piece is made by hand and no two pieces are exactly alike.

The pieces featured here are covered with a combination of several different glazes that I make myself. The glaze formulas came from friends, books and magazines, but the combination was something I came up with on my own.

These pieces are food safe, dishwasher and microwave safe. They can even be put in the oven, but be sure to put them in a cold oven and let them warm up as the oven does. Never put a ceramic tray in a pre-heated oven; also, never put frozen foods directly into a ceramic pot or on a ceramic tray. The sudden temperature change could cause cracks or even breakage.
